Charlotte Tomlinson studied at the University of York and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Guildhall of Music and Banff Centre of Fine Arts, Canada. Her career as a duo pianist and chamber musician has taken her all over the world with recitals in the Gulf States, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Europe, UK and across South East Asia with the Hong Kong Piano Trio

She has been an accompanist for Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Trinity College and for BBC Young Musician of the Year. She has broadcast for Dutch National Radio, RTHK and BBC Radio 3.

In Hong Kong, she was a vocal coach and official accompanist at the Academy for Performing Arts, lectured in performance and taught piano at the University of Hong Kong, and formed the Hong Kong Piano Trio

Charlotte taught piano at the Purcell School  for eleven years and was also the Artistic Director and founder of Chamber Music International, an international summer school for chamber music and composition. Sir Simon Rattle (patron) said of it: "...inspirational and visionary...I think it's wonderful!”

She also works as a Performance Coach, helping musicians manage performance anxiety, move on from repetitive strain injury (RSI) and rebuild their relationship with their instrument after difficult & traumatic experiences. Any student automatically gets the benefits of these skills, if needed, as part of her teaching!

“…the most valuable technical input I have ever had – even after all my years at the Royal College!” -Rob H, professional pianist

“I’ve never before seen the level of patience in a teacher that I’ve seen in Charlotte. It creates an environment where learning thrives because it becomes so enjoyable and easy. Charlotte has insights into piano technique, music and personal discovery that have literally changed my life!” - Ben G, past student, Leeds College of Music

“Charlotte has a real talent to see how the music is constructed….she has an incredible ability to teach people to teach themselves.” - Ashley Fripp, pianist
